Summer Program 2024
Registration for Participants Staying in Turkiye

Join Shaykh Mokhtar Maghraoui, Shaykh Riad Saloojee, and other teachers of the Al-Madina Seminary as they explore timely, tested, and transformative spiritual wisdom from saintly scholars of Islamic spirituality: Shaykh ibn ‘Ata’illah, Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, and Shaykh Ahmed al-Sirhindi, may Allah sanctify their souls.
The program’s goal is to grow in nearness to Allah by drawing practical lessons from the spiritual wisdom of three great scholar-saints in the Islamic tradition.
These daily knowledge sessions will be held in-person in Istanbul, Turkiye. The sessions will take place over two weeks during July. The number of knowledge sessions will be 10, seven delivered by Shaykh Mokhtar and three by the teachers of Al-Madina’s Seminary.

Timings:
Daily sessions will start at 10:30am with our daily dhikr (optional) while classes will run daily from 11am-1pm.
An earlier start time for Fridays might be necessary to accommodate the Jumu’a prayer at the location.

This program includes 7 classes delivered by Shaykh Mokhtar and an additional 3 classes which will be delivered by the teachers of the Al-Madina Suhba Seminary. Class time will be approximately 2 hours each day from Monday to Friday for both weeks of the program.

Teahchers
Dr. Amir Abdelzaher
Dr. Amir obtained his Ph.D from the University of Miami, taught at several universities, and was a teacher and Director of Planning at the Islamic School of Miami. He has been studying the Islamic sciences with Shaykh Mokhtar for nearly two decades. In particular, he is passionate about the study of the Qur’an, its interpretations and its sciences.
Sidi Naeem Saloojee
Sidi Naeem Saloojee left his position as CEO of a start-up company in artificial intelligence to join the Suhba Fellowship Program in Istanbul with his family. Before that, he was the Director of Operations for a successful national Islamic advocacy organization. He has been studying the Islamic sciences with Shaykh Mokhtar for over two decades. The sciences that appeal most to him are theology and the Prophetic biography.

Yes. Participants need to be 16+
The program will take place in historical Uskudar, Istanbul.
Classes will run Monday through Friday for 1 hour and 50 minutes each day.
Finding lodging for those travelling in Istanbul is difficult. Participants are recommended to secure lodging at a local hotel. Please contact us for some suggestions here.
Refunds are not provided at this time. Please secure your lodging before registering for the program.
Students from Turkey are will recieve a $100 discount as compared to students coming from abroad (for all tiers of registration – single, 2-people or more).
